Casa Mons. Michele Cosentino

Static website for a care home, with every text, image and list editable by the client through a visual CMS.

Casa Mons. Michele Cosentino

The problem

A care home needed an institutional website to present the building, its services, events and contacts to visitors and their families. The client had to be able to update the content without touching code or calling a developer.

What I built

I was the only developer. The result is a static site with home, about, the building, services, events and contact pages, plus a 404. All texts, images, galleries and lists (carousels, service cards, contact cards) are editable through a visual CMS.

Interesting decisions

  • CMS-driven, no database. Content is stored as markdown in the repository. Each page queries it through GraphQL, filtering by page key and then by section key, so every single string can be edited.

  • Edits as commits. Netlify CMS with git-gateway and Netlify Identity turns each change by the client into a commit, which triggers a rebuild of the site. The history shows it clearly.

  • Declarative CMS configuration. A single config file of about 70 entries defines the fields, with widgets for repeatable lists and galleries.

  • Performance basics. Images served as WebP, a Swiper carousel and a generated sitemap.
